A Provençal mas below the old village

Built from honey-coloured local stone, Mas de Mougins stands in a quiet garden just below the old village, looking west towards the hills of the Esterel.

Inside, the house keeps its character: exposed stone walls, old timber beams and terracotta floors throughout. A wrought-iron gallery runs around the upper floor, with a writing desk under the window for slow mornings.

Outside, a wide lawn shaded by tall palms leads to the pool, set in old stone paving with loungers on every side. The arched loggia beneath the balcony keeps cool through the afternoon, and the evenings are made for dinner outdoors as the sun goes down over the hills.
